Legendary cricketer, singer and parliamentarian, Sachin Tendulkar becomes a road safety activist in Hyderabad at a traffic stop. He urges rule-breaking bikers to wear helmets. They were more focused on clicking selfies with the cricket legend.
A Rajya Sabha MP, Sachin Tendulkar posted a video on his profile on Twitter. He was sitting on the back seat of his car and urging the passing bikers to wear helmets.
Helmet Dalo – Sachin Tendulkar
It seems to be a caring gesture from Tendulkar. The Rajya Sabha MP posted, “Helmet Dalo!! Road safety must be the top priority. Promise me you will never ride without helmet. Safety comes first. Life is precious. It’s dangerous.”
In this video, few bikers look on Tendulkar as stunned without helmets. He calls on them and urged to follow the rules. After the surprise, one guy took his phone to click a selfie with the cricketer.
When his car starts, he also stopped other bikers and requested them not to ride without helmets and to follow the rules. It happened recently when he visited Hyderabad to attend IPL’s opening ceremony.
He, himself, never came into the pitch without helmet for batting in his decades-long career in cricketing. Even though the helmet he is advising is totally different from cricket gear, his take in the country will definitely make change in road safety rules in India.
To those who don’t know, Sachin has recently become a social activist after retirement from cricket in his second innings. He adopted a few villages in Maharashtra by offering all the basic facilities and homes to the villagers. He has also been seen in several educational campaigns from Mumbai Indians, along with platforms regarding children’s welfare.
Just like in cricket, he understands that wearing helmet is equally important on the road. He is conscious enough to use his fame to motivate people to do things right.
Helmet Dalo!! Road safety should be the highest priority for everyone. Please don't ride without a helmet.
